Ticks are parasites that feed on blood sucked from humans or animals. While sucking blood, ticks may transmit dangerous, even lethal diseases as some of them carry pathogens.
If you get bitten, it is therefore essential to remove the tick quickly and correctly.
The tick must be removed correctly
Do not squeeze or burn the tick,
do not try to kill the tick or put it to sleep
with chemical products before removing it.
To remove an attached tick correctly,
never pull the tick, but twist it in order to minimize the risk of breaking the tick's rostrum under the skin.
You should absolutely
avoid pressing the tick, in order to minimize the risk of transmission of
diseases.
The faster the tick is out of the skin, the better it is.
Ticks can carry very dangerous
diseases; infected ticks only need a couple of hours to infect their host.
But remember that a tick bite does not automatically mean you will be infected, so remain calm and remove the tick correctly:
